Способ взят с форума православных web-разработчиков, автор Илья (www.icon-art.info). Ниже приводится английский перевод, сделанный Артуром Стецыком.

Да простят меня разработчики Ирмология за мои «исследования», но если на компьютере установлен Word 2003, то установить пакет таки можно и что самое приятное — он будет работать! Хотя я не уверен, что не вспывут какие-то глюки: в моем случае их пока замечено не было. 

!!! ВНИМАНИЕ! Если вы никогда не работали с редактором реестра, то, наверно, стоит раздобыть знакомых, которые умеют работать с ним. Неаккуратное применение этого инструмента может нарушить нормальную работу программ или операционной системы на вашем компьютере!

Итак: 1. Редактором реестра исследуем параметр HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\InstallRoot\Path. Найденное значение аккуратно копируем в буфер. Например, у меня при установке по умолчанию оно было таким: 
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\

2. Поднимаемся по дереву реестра до узла Office и смотрим, нет ли в нем узла 10.0. 

а) если нет, то от узла Office создаем цепочку вложенных узлов: 10.0\Word\InstallRoot. 

б) если есть, то переходим в узел 10.0 и создаем цепочку \Word\InstallRoot.

3. Добавляем созданную нами ветку строковый параметр Path с ранее сохраненным нами значением.

4. Запускаем инсталлятор Ирмологий 3. Все должно пройти как по маслу.

5. Запускаем Word. При запуске скорее всего всплывет предупреждение злобных макросах. В окошке этого предупреждения жмем кнопку «Сведения». В открывшемся окне на вкладке General жмем кнопку View Certificate, а в открывшемся окне Install Certificate. Жмем «Далее» пока не установится. Закрываем Word.

6. Снова запускаем Word. Опять возникнет предупреждение про макросы. После установки сертификата в этом окне станет возможным поставить галочку в поле «Всегда доверять макросам этого производителя» и нажать кнопку «Разрешить макросы».

Q: How can I install Irmologion-3 with Word 2003?

A: Please take note that this is an unofficial workaround having no connection to the author of Irmologion-3 who shall not be contacted to in respect of the possible difficulties or problems connected with this workaround and who shall not bear any responsibility in case your negligence in dealing with the Windows Registry causes your system to crash. You have been warned that you have chosen to follow these instructions at your own risk and responsibility. If you do not know what does Windows Registry mean, you should better stop here and ask somebody who knows more about it to help you with the following instructions.

1. Open the "Start" menu at the lower left-hand corner of your desktop. Choose "Run" and type regedit.exe at the prompt, then click OK. 

2. Find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\InstallRoot\Path 

3. Double-click "Path" value at the right panel of the Registry Editor. 

4. Look at the "Value data" and if you installed your Office 2003 to the default directory, the data should read: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\ if positive, close the Registry Editor and proceed to Step 5, otherwise — proceed to Step 7. 

5. Run the attached word11.reg file by double-clicking it. Agree to add the information to the registry. The content of the file is as follows: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Word\InstallRoot] "Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Office\\OFFICE11\\" i.e. by adding this information to the Registry you fool up the operating system stating that you have Word XP installed at the directory where your Word 2003 is actually installed. 

6. Proceed with Irmologion-3 installation. The package will install smoothly now. 

7. If you happened to install Office 2003 to some different from the default directory, please copy the Value data from the Step 4 to clipboard (right-hand click and choose Copy). 

8. Edit the content of the attached word11.reg file by opening it with the Notepad and changing the line: "Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Office\\OFFICE11\\" to that saved by you in the clipboard. Please take note to edit the inserted from the clipboard path value with double backslash signs. 

9. Then proceed to the Step 5-6, i.e. run the edited word11.reg file and proceed with the Irmologion-3 installation.

Upon successful installation of Irmologion-3 and when running Word 2003 for the first time you might see the warning about potentially dangerous macros having been installed. Click "Details" at this warning window, then click "General" tab at the next window, click "View Certificate", click "Install Certificate" at the next window, then click "OK" several times until the certificate will be installed. Exit Word 2003.

Run Word 2003 again and when you see macros warning window once again you will be able to check "Always trust macros by this vendor", please check it and then click "Allow macros".

Wait a little bit and now you can use Irmologion-3 with Word 2003.
